March 3 Alisha Tatham Update
We have had a major breakthrough with Alisha Tatham. She came into today’s training feeling recovered after a day-off on Tuesday. Today’s session began by testing her vertical jump and her single leg vertical after a thorough warm-up. Her warm-up can be seen below. Her scores were a modest 17.0, 13.8 and 6.1 for her counter movement jump, left and right legs (ACL repaired) knees respectively. These results are way off her best, when she jumped 30 inches October 2008. [/youtube]We have had a major breakthrough with Alisha Tatham. Helen Upperton wins silver in bobsleigh!!
WOW. I can't describe how much pride I have in our Olympic Bobsled women's team. In particular Helen Upperton, who made the transition from Track and Field (triple jump) to Bobsleigh. Professionally I met Helen Upperton at the start of her Bobsleigh career, after her track career (University of Texas) was cut short because of injury. Her introduction into the world of Bobsleigh, came because of an invititation by Mark Hindle (the development coordinator of Bobsleigh Canada). She was amongst 20 or so athletes that were invited based on their athleticism. Who knew an invitation into a program would produce an Olympic medal. From day one, Helen possed a sense of purpose and trained like few I have ...

Update: Jevohn Shepherd
FITS is proud to announce that Jevohn has signed and is contributing significantly to NBA-D League Halifax Rainmen. After a gruelling summer of patellar tendinopathy, which was managed with strengthening a weakened hamstring at FITS, we are excited to see him playing well. This upcoming summer should be very interesting as he develops, after a college career at Michigan University. Stay tuned, he will surprise many. YouTube – Bo Jackson
via www.youtube.com This is just a hommage to a childhood hero, and in my mind the greatest athlete of all time. Perhaps he was the reason why I went into athletic development - to search for the next one. Thankfully I've been blessed to work with many, many talented athletes - but BO JACKSON is truly one of kind - perhaps there will never be another Bo Jackson Related posts:YouTube – WORLD STRONGEST MAN 2007 ALIVE! via www.youtube.com Here is one of the greatest of all...
