WOW. I can't describe how much pride I have in our Olympic Bobsled women's team. In particular Helen Upperton, who made the transition from Track and Field (triple jump) to Bobsleigh. Professionally I met Helen Upperton at the start of her Bobsleigh career, after her track career (University of Texas) was cut short because of injury. Her introduction into the world of Bobsleigh, came because of an invititation by Mark Hindle (the development coordinator of Bobsleigh Canada). She was amongst 20 or so athletes that were invited based on their athleticism. Who knew an invitation into a program would produce an Olympic medal.   FITS is proud to announce that Jevohn has signed and is contributing significantly to NBA-D League Halifax Rainmen. After a gruelling summer of patellar tendinopathy, which was managed with strengthening a weakened hamstring at FITS, we are excited to see him playing well. FITS Toronto is proud to congratulate the Canada's National Cadet U16 Team on wining bronze against Venezuela at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship,106 - 81. As a result Canada qualifies for the first ever 2010 U17 World Championship. Congratulations goes out to Dr. Cubos and the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Major Bantam AAA Hockey Club for their exceptional effort and performance this past weekend at the Nike Bauer Invite tournament in Chicago, IL. Out of 48 teams in North America, the Jr. Canadiens successfully made it to the semifinals on Sunday afternoon.
