FITS is proud to announce our FLIGHT SCHOOL Program – where athletes (male and female athletes, aged 14 – 18) develop their vertical explosiveness. Geared towards athletes that require explosive jumping qualities. This program builds on years of success working with athletes from basketball, volleyball, and many other sports that require explosive power (see who’s been apart of the program below).

By attending FLIGHT SCHOOL you are strength training, performing plyometrics, learning olympic weightlifting, jumping, landing, and harnessing your power safetly and effectively. Don’t waste time and don’t exposure yourself to increased injury risk by working on your own or without professional instruction. FLIGHT SCHOOL is housed in a highly motivating 8,000 sq. ft. facility with five complete Olympic Weightlfting platforms, two Vertimax training devices, three power stations with over 4000 lbs of weight, power bands, chains, Plyometric Boxes, and other pieces of equipment to harness your vertical jump.

What is included in the program?

FLIGHT TEST – Injury Proof Screen, Jump Profile, and Performance Profile

FLIGHT SCHOOL TRAINING – Strength and Power Development in the most advanced training facility in Ontario

CONTINUING EDUCATION: upon graduation you will support vis the “Flight School Training Program”

Program Information

Start Date: July 6, 2011
Duration: 8 Weeks
Dates: Monday and Wednesday 6:00 – 7:30 *** More dates may become available***

  • Deliberate and focussed movement development (Physical Literacy) to develop explosive power and to reduce the likelihood of injury of common jumping related injuries such as tendinopathies (jumper’s knee) and serious injuries such as non-contact ACL ruptures.

  • Full Spectrum Power Development (FITS approach to developing explosive power)

What does a typical day look like?

Curriculum: 90 minutes Sessions

  1. Mobility and basic movement development
  2. Periodized Speed and Reactive Ability Development (i.e. Plyometric, Drop Jump, Olympic Weightlifting *introductory)
  3. Power, and Strength Development (Full Spectrum Training)
  4. Accessory Exercises and Trunk Development
  5. Physiological Development (based on the sport)
  6. Recovery and Mobility
